USPSA has taught me more about my shooting in three matches than two years of casual range trips, the timer is a lie detector for your fundamentals!

USPSA is where confidence goes to get chrono’d, scored and politely told to practice reloads..

The timer never pulls its punches, does it? My very first match was a real eye-opener ...it quickly showed me that what I thought was a fast draw was actually pretty theatrical and, well, just slow.

Shot timer has no feelings, just receipts for every bad habit you thought was speed

It's always fun to compete in matches but I wonder just how much any of these matches work in the real world of civilian self defense. We must always remember as civilians we are very limited in what we can do in a self defense situation. You most likely will be charged at the very least with manslaughter and if it gets to court you will judged by 12 poorly educated jurors in self defense quarterbacks.

In the military I competed in bull's eyes pistol shooting and it was fun with fellow shooters. Competition is fun with fellow shooters but don't take it too seriously as you are not police or military as civilians.
