Hey folks, I thought it'd be great to have a thread where we can share our experiences with local gun shops. What makes a gun shop trustworthy to you? Have you had great or bad experiences that you want to share? Maybe you've found a shop with an awesome used gun selection or just fair prices and no crazy transfer fees?

I know for me, it's all about the staff — someone who knows their stuff and won't just try to upsell you on items you don't need. Let's hear about the places you love or maybe the ones you'd caution others to avoid. Feel free to mention your location so we can help out fellow gun enthusiasts in the area!

Shedhorn sports in Ennis is a interesting store. Some high end stuff, and a nice assortment of gear and knives.
I have bought knives and some mags there for some odd ball stuff.

I'm in Butte and I've found it near impossible to find black powder accessories anywhere in town or around the state. I am also looking for a good gunsmith.

I have ended up buying the larger ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight and a assortment of tools that are useful. I also have stocked some small parts for my common firearms. Those and some printed gun parts books as well as you tubes has served me well.

When buying new firearms (I usually buy used) I have been very satisfied with Bob Wards in Missoula. Scheels, the giant big box sporting goods store built a store right across the parking lot and they get lots more foot traffic, but Bob Wards always seems to have better selection and better prices on firearms.
Being the tightwad that I am, I usually buy ammo and everything else gun related besides guns on line.
