I love the guy but he won't shut up. We're supposed to be quiet and he's whispering stories every ten minutes. He scared off more deer than I can count. How do you tell a friend to be quiet without being a jerk?

Tell him the deer speak English and already heard his podcast, so maybe save stories for lunch.

Just hand him a pair of binoculars and say, “Focus on the deer, not your monologue, buddy."

Use duct tape over the mouth. Works every time it's tried.

I usually have that talk before the hunt and keep it relaxed. I tell them we'll talk about it more back at camp. If you let people know what to expect early on, no one's feelings get hurt.
