Scope fogged up from temperature change

One cold morning fogged the scope inside and I couldn't see anything. I missed a shot opportunity because of it. How do you prevent scopes from fogging?

Buy a new scope. If it's a top line scope like Leopold send back to have it fixed. Sounds like you have nitrogen leak.

Let it acclimate first or it’ll turn into a $300 snow globe.

I just decided to look up fogging on rifle scopes. If it's internal fogging the scope is leaking and get the scope fixed. If it's external fogging put on lens caps and let the scope acclimate to the cold temps.

Guess I should have looked this up earlier. I've never had my expensive scopes ever fog up.
