Here's why I practice shooting on the move even though I hope I never have to

Yeah, static shooting can give a false sense of confidence. Add movement and suddenly everything feels harder and more realistic.

Flat range skills are nice but movement is where things fall apart or come together real fast under pressure

Practicing movement completely changed how I think about range time. It feels awkward at first but once you add it in, standing still starts to feel just plain weird.

Standing still in a gunfight is the worst option on the table and moving while shooting is a completely different skill set than standing flat-footed at the range. It's harder, it's humbling and it's one of the most important things to work into your training rotation.
Well I'm to old to shoot and move. My shooting will up close and personal. My shooting will be at 1 to 3 feet after I have a bullet hole or knife wound. I'm to old to go to prison.

As soon as you start shooting on the move, that's usually where all your great range performance just falls apart. Standing still and shooting, that's a comfort zone that simply doesn't exist once you step outside the shooting bay.

I don't know about any of you guys but my self-defense is what I call across the poker table not literally but figuratively. I have no intention of shooting anybody except as a last resort when all else has failed like beating path to a exit or sheltering in place.

Once you shoot somebody your life effectively ends. Between the legal costs of trying to defend yourself against a felony charge and than the tort charge (civil suit) you will be broke. If you end up in prison you might very well wish you were dead.

I get asked this all the time all you carry is a little five-shot LCR, yup that is all I need. I try never to be where I should not be. I also try to make sure I know where all the exist are or where I can shelter in place until the cavalry arrives.

I train moving static and repeat do I plan to be in an area where it will be needed, no BUT I don’t want to say I should have trained for this. There are companies out there that help with the aftermath of an incident. My loved ones or other innocents are why I train. Not from wanting it to happen but to prepare for IF it happens this world can get crazy fast as we all saw in OTHER terms of office with absolutely crazy stuff that was allowed. Just my thoughts

Better to have the reps and never need them than wish you had when things go sideways fast

No company is going to prison for you. And when push comes to shove many of these companies will be no where's in sight. Believe me is you shoot someone you are going to wish you were dead by the time the State gets done with you.
