Desert Eagles look incredible in photos with the all chrome and intimidation. In reality, they're finicky, heavy and the ammo costs as much as a car payment. Same with some of those fancy competition race guns covered in cuts and ports. Instagram loves them, but I'd take a bone-stock Glock that actually runs over a pretty gun that jams any day.

I used to own one of those fancy pistols, a Kimber Micro 9. It looked awesome in photos but it was a pain to shoot at the range. I ended up selling it and keeping the basic one that works every single time.

Sort of like a very hot woman in photos, look good but a real pain to have.

Desert Eagles are a classic example of a gun that just looks way cooler in pictures than it feels when you're actually at the range. Everyone wants a photo holding one but that enthusiasm usually fades once they realize how much it weighs, how expensive the ammo is and how finicky they can be once the novelty wears off.

A lot of flashy guns look amazing online then disappoint once you actually spend time shooting and maintaining them regularly.
