Just got a message on a Ruger group I belong to, and joined this morning. I've been around NW Montana for many years, spent a little time as a deputy sheriff in a blink you miss it county here in Montana over 20 years ago, and returned to NW Montana after that.

Welcome and hope we can build this thread as large as the LRH that got me here. We shoot in Whitefish Gun range short at 300 yards but its good for working up a load before going south.

I was up there today and it was busy with hunting season in the back country just a day aways. I was shooting handguns today as that is usually less busy. You can get memberships at most of the sporting stores in Helena. Capital Sports has memberships. Better yet go up with someone who has a membership and you can get a guest pass at the range and check things out and shoot. The range is on forest service land and is on the honor system.
