Phones work great until they don’t, then everyone realizes they had no backup plan. Alternate comms and a basic meetup plan save a lot of stress when service disappears like it always does.

So I have heard that a good CB is handy as well as a few VHF handhelds are good as well line if sight BUT most op for walkie talkies and the vhf aren’t as popular away from the coast which is my point. Also a good ham radio to MONITOR traffic can come in handy.
Ok that’s my three cents

Yep, phones quit, plans shouldn’t. A couple radios and a meetup spot beat panic every time.

Yep, great tak! CB for range, VHF for line-of-sight and ham monitoring fills the gaps nicely.

And like previous stated having a meetup A and B with different call signs is always in the original plan
I mean that’s just what I’ve heard anyway.
