Nice shot, that's awesome! Hitting an 8" target at 400 yards with a .223 is impressive. For 500 yards you'll definitely want to confirm your ballistics (ammo, BC, and velocity), dial or hold for the big drop, and read the wind carefully. Consider a heavier, higher-BC .223 load if you plan longer shots, or a different caliber if you want flatter trajectory and more energy.
