The Ruger New Model Bisley Vaquero in .45 Colt is nicer to shoot and more comfortable than Ruger New Modal Standard Grip Vaquero in .45 Colt. I can see why many shooters put the Bisley grip, hammer, and trigger on the Ruger single action revolvers for .44 mag.

Agreed. The Bisley grip really tames recoil and improves comfort. No surprise so many folks swap Bisley parts onto heavier single-action calibers.

I looked it up and Ruger has a whole stable of Bisley revolvers now including their .44 mag Hunter model.

Ya if I were to buy another Ruger single action .44 mag for hand gun hunting I'd by the Bisley Hunter now that I know the difference. I'd also make sure it had smooth grips as that is better than rough grips. I have used both and you want that grip to rock in the hand with that much recoil.

I own a lot of Ruger Single Actions, and I hate the Bisley grips... Plow handles all the way for me. Biggest issue for me is it changes the natural aim point.
