Curious what folks think about keeping ramen in the prep stash. I know it’s not exactly nutrient-dense, but it’s cheap, filling, and lasts a while.

I’ve got a few cases stored away, but I’m wondering how long they really last past the date. Also — is there a better way to store them than just keeping the packs in the box?

Anyone rotate ramen regularly or have tricks to make it a little more useful in a long-term situation? They seem to last longer than their expiration date.

Do some googling.....lots of info out there. Ramen is cheap and quick to fix, it is also what I call comfort food in that it is something most people are used to. If you are dealing with a shortage situation things will be tense in more ways than lack of food so anything you can do to make people feel more comfortable is a plus.
I mark the date i bought the product on the outside of the packaging in big marker pen.
As ramen ages the ingredients can go funky and give it a off taste,,,,,

If I'm in a survival type situation, I don't want to be consuming processed food. Wheat, sugar and chemicals like MSG aren't nutritious and rob you of your physical and mental vitality. I would rather have something like a can of sardines and some dried fruit without preservatives.
Rotate your stock.

Ramen is okay for emergency food but you should add canned veggies or protein like tuna or eggs to make it better

Junk processed food with MSG and preservatives just makes you sleepy and dulls your mind. Eat real food.
