Bought a new model Vaquero in .45 Colt Bisley. Very pretty shinny stainless to duplicate a finely finished nickel. Wife really like the very pretty one and I liked my self over a standard Colt single action. Oh well can't take it with me.
 
Congrats on the new Vaquero! That shiny stainless really pops and sounds like your wife’s happy too
 
I like the 45 colt rd so during the Alec Baldwin issue some of the people on the docks were asking about the safety of a single action since he “didn’t pull the trigger” I explained that he was holding it when he fanned the action and of course I had a couple that argued the issue. So I bought one, I should all present that all cylinders where empty one at a time the closed the action cocked it and tossed it across the cockpit and for 5 minutes I had them kick it around the area. Funny thing is it didn’t go off. So then I eased the trigger forward showed all empty cylinders once again. The showed them what happens when you hold the trigger and fanned the hammer. At that point they all understood that Alec Cry on demand Baldwin had murdered that woman. They all still shoot to this day. Several were pretty much anti gunners till they went to the range a couple of times.
 
I had a English Chap on another forum say that a .45 Colt kicks like a mule. I asked him if he had ever been kicked by a mule? I told him a .45 Colt kicks about that same as a 1911 in .45 ACP. I have both so I know the score.
 
I was asked on another forum if the Ruger Bisley had a wider trigger like the originals and yes it does have a wider trigger than the standard Ruger New Model Vaqueros it's not real wide but wider.
 
Never even realized that the 45 colt had recoil much,yes about like 1911 since the 1911 45acp was developed to reproduce the 45 colt with modern powders or do I have my stories confused

Not really. The original black powder load for the .45 Colt was extremely powerful for it's day. Today a standard smokeless load not so much. The .45 ACP duplicates the .45 S&W also known as the Government load which could be fired in the old break top S&W revovler of the day. The .45 Colt could not be used in the S&W but the S&W load could be used in the old break top. Sort of like our current Special loads and Magnum loads. You can fire Special in a Magnum but not a Magnum in a Special. I'm referring to the .38 Special/.357 Magnum etc.
